After graduating with honours with a degree in Athletic Therapy from Concordia University in 2013, Shane started his career at Action Sport Physio St-Bruno by working with sports teams in the area. He specialises in the assessment and rehabilitation of injured athletes and active people. As a multi-sport athlete himself, he has had the opportunity to work with athletes in numerous sports, most notably hockey, football, soccer and basketball. In 2013, Shane became the athletic therapist for the St-Hyacinthe Lauréats hockey team of the QJAAAHL and the St-Bruno Barons football team. Shane has been the head athletic therapist for all St-Bruno Barons teams since 2014. This allows him to offer a consistent follow-up in the clinic and on the field.
Shane has taken continued education courses to perfect his abilities in the clinic and on the field. He also applies principles that he has learnt during his experiences with professional sports teams such as the Montreal Canadiens (NHL). The FMS (Functional Movement Screen) approach, which helps detect the risk of injury, is a prime example of this. He also holds the Sports First Responder certification, which allows him to provide emergency care directly on the field. He has obtained the Complete Concussion Management certification, which equips him with better tools to manage concussions and to return the person suffering from a concussion to work or play.
Since 2016, Shane has administered the baseline concussion testing to players of the Montreal Canadiennes (CWHL). His experience with elite athletes, combined with sound clinical judgment, allows him to safely return his patients to their sport or to their activities as rapidly as possible.
