Social Worker and Psychotherapist
Mélanie holds a bachelor's degree in psychology, a master's degree in social work and a certificate in mental health from Université de Montréal. She has been working in mental health for several years. Convinced that a healthy mind belongs in a healthy body, she is currently developing an intervention in pain management by focusing on the body-mind dyad and using in her interventions data from the latest research in neuroscience, in order to rely on the power of the brain in the healing process.
With this in mind, Mélanie also works in the treatment of depression, anxiety, and post-traumatic stress. She has a strong interest in stress management and emotional regulation. She mostly uses the cognitive-behavioral approach and ACT. The techniques and strategies she uses with clients are varied and include cardiac coherence and mindfulness meditation, among other things. Mélanie works with teens and adults.
