Nicole Balazic Physiotherapist

Nicole Balazic graduated from the University of Toronto in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy. She is also a member in good standing of the Ordre professionnel des physiothérapeutes du Québec (OPPQ) and the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (CPA).

Prior to obtaining her degree in physiotherapy, Nicole graduated from Concordia University in 1998 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science – specialized in Adapted Physical Activity. To further enhance her knowledge in exercise prescription, Nicole received her personal trainer's certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) that same year. This certification enabled her to work as a personal trainer and fitness evaluator at the Sporting Club du Sanctuaire.

Nicole has been a part of the Action Sport Physio team since 2001, working initially at Action Sport Physio St. Bruno and currently at the St. Leonard location.

Nicole has a particular professional interest in orthopedics and manual therapy. She has obtained her Level III lower and upper quadrant certifications, as well as taken shoulder specialty courses, levels I and II. Nicole has also enhanced her level of expertise by taking professional training geared toward musculoskeletal problems during pregnancy and post-partum physiotherapy interventions. She has also taken courses to treat the temporomandibular joint of the jaw (TMJ). In 2013, she has completed a course in exercise prescription for cervical dysfunction. In 2015, she obtained a certification for peripheral and vertebral manipulations. In 2016, Nicole took a specialty course given by Linda Joy Lee on the evaluation and treatment of the thoracic spine.

In her spare time, Nicole enjoys snorkeling, biking and hiking during the summer months. During winter, she spends her leisure time skating, cross-country and downhill skiing. Nicole cherishes the time with her family.
