Pavitha is a McGill University graduate, who obtained both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Physiotherapy and is a member of the “L'Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec” (OPPQ).
Pavitha has experience working with a wide range of conditions including orthopedic injuries, stroke rehabilitation and chronic pain. Therefore, she is qualified to treat; Neck/shoulder/elbow/wrist pain; Upper and Lower back pain; Pelvis/hip/knee/ankle pain that may arise from a sport injuries or daily life activities. Her experience in chronic pain enables her to better understand her clients and to formulate an individualized plan of care.
During her academic years, Pavitha treated the McGill varsity football team as a student physiotherapist. Despite being 5’2”, she was more than capable of handling players three times her size. Therefore, she is ready for your sports injuries.
She has a passion for exercise prescription, so that her clients can eventually be the masters of their own health. She also has a background in the McKenzie approach, which makes her more skilled to treat your lower back and neck pain.
Pavitha also has a particular interest for pelvic floor rehabilitation that is a physical therapy approach for dysfunctions in the pelvic region and muscles around the genitals and anus. She is certified to treat women for a variety of conditions, such as: urinary dysfunction (incontinence or voiding dysfunction), pelvic pain, pain with sexual intercourse (dyspareunia), symptoms in the pelvic area arising from pregnancy, childbirth, menopause, etc., or from urology/gynecology/obstetric/oncology surgeries that a physician will refer for rehabilitation.
She continues to expand her knowledge through continuing education courses in order to better treat her clients.
Pavitha has interests for hiking, weight-training, reading, and spending time with family and friends; however, most importantly, she loves food!
