Mara graduated from Concordia University in 2017 with a degree in Exercise Science, with a major in Athletic Therapy. She is an active member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association and La Corporation des Thérapeutes du Sport du Québec. Graduating with distinction, Mara uses innovative treatment techniques, such as manual therapies and exercise prescription, as they are equally important towards recovery.
Mara has worked closely with the general population, and with various football, soccer, basketball and rugby athletes. Her experience includes but is not limited to; Musculoskeletal Assessment and Rehabilitation, Sideline evaluation and Advanced Emergency Care. Having worked at the Trevor William’s Basketball Academy for three consecutive summers, Mara gained experience with youth aged 5-18, tending to injuries and leading the First Aid Team. Mara also trains clients in the clinic’s studio, as she believes injury prevention and overall health stem from a proper core foundation. She has worked as a Women’s Kickboxing/Boxing Circuit Trainer, encouraging and correcting technique.
Mara is passionate about helping others understand the source of their injury; she constantly finds new and exciting ways to challenge clients in their home exercise programs. During her free time, she enjoys physical activity, spending time with family and friends, and furthering her education. She believes a strong work ethic and a good sense of humour go a long way in all aspects of life.
