Geneviève is currently a fourth year student in the Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, specializing in Athletic Therapy at Concordia University. She will graduate in May 2019 and will attempt her certification exam at the National Examination in June 2019 with the Canadian Athletic Therapy Association.
Geneviève has worked with various sports during her 1 200 internship hours such as football, soccer, basketball, rugby and hockey. During her internships, she provided emergency care on the field with proper return to play, as well as assessments and rehabilitation of different musculoskeletal injuries. She even did an internship with the Montreal Alouettes, a pro-football team in the CFL. Geneviève is also part of the Concordia varsity wrestling team and she has been wrestling for 10 years. She even responds to injuries at her wrestling practices since there is no team therapist. She has always been passionate about sports and helping others.
Geneviève also has experience in a non-varsity setting as she did her 400 hour clinical internship at the PERFORM Centre, a student private clinic.
Throughout her internships, Geneviève has learned a great deal about manual therapy, exercise prescription and much more. She believes it is important to work as a team with the patient and fellow therapists in order to give the best and most effective treatment. She has developed a passion for athletic therapy and strives to grow and become the best athletic therapist she can be.
