Dirouhi Kesbian graduated from Concordia University in 2010 with a degree in Exercise Science with specialization in Athletic Therapy. After a couple of years of working with sports teams, both varsity and recreational, she pursued her studies at University of Toronto. In 2015, she received her Master of Science degree in Physical Therapy.
Di stayed and worked in Toronto in various settings. She enjoyed working with a more vulnerable population in an inpatient hospital setting, providing physiotherapy on the respirology floor and within an outpatient respirology clinic. Di later returned to orthopaedics, within a private outpatient setting, providing care to both an athletic and a general population. After working in Toronto and in Windsor, ON., Di has recently returned to her hometown of Montreal.
Di had originally joined the Action Sport Physio team as a physiotherapy assistant from January 2011 to August 2013, before heading to Toronto to continue her studies. Since December 2018, she has been working as a physiotherapist at our Rosemère and West Island locations. She has successfully completed Level 1 and Level 2 Upper Manual Therapy courses through the London Orthopedic Unit, and she intends on further pursuing her Manual Therapy education.
Dirouhi has a strong exercise background, both from formal professional education and through personal interest in strength and conditioning. She believes in the importance of combining manual therapy and progressive exercise as part of her practice. She plans to pursue a certification in rehab-based Pilates in the future and wishes to integrate this approach to optimize injury prevention and better help patients return to their optimal functional capacity. Di’s mission is to deliver excellent patient-centered care using evidence-based techniques by incorporating a neuromuscular approach to treatment and encourage active rehabilitation through physical activity and exercise. She has a strong passion for promoting an overall healthy lifestyle, well-being, and safety in our everyday lives.
During her free time, Dirouhi enjoys spinning, yoga, and circuit-based training. She is excited to rediscover Montreal and the surrounding areas and hopes to get back into skiing to take full advantage of the beautiful Montreal winter months!
