Margaret Amos Margaret’s philosophy is “fitness from the inside – out”! She is a Certified Fitness Trainer (CFT) and Youth Fitness Trainer (YFT) through the International Sport Science Association (ISSA). She has a vast knowledge in training, high net-gain nutrition, and an overall enthusiasm for developing and sharing her knowledge in these fields. Margaret’s active career began while trudging through marshlands detailing the effects of climate change on blackbirds. It was then that her focus on prevention grew as a prominent message to effect change. These observations prompted an in-depth study via a M.A. in the area of education and human learning with a focus on human potential. Margaret’s queries led to 11+ years work in the private and public education sectors as educator, administrator, researcher, and developer of well-received programs based on the theory of active learning with children, youth-at-risk, youth, and adult learners. She uses training and high net-gain nutrition as a prime motivator to guide and challenge individuals about what it means, and feels like, to undoubtedly enhance quality of life. As research shows we have unnecessarily come to accept stress, disease, and illness as a part of our lives. Lifestyle changes can prevent, offset and even reverse a plethora of mental and physical ailments with changes to our daily activity and nutritional regimens. Tapping potential and success takes desire, commitment, open communication, feedback and learning. Whether you are a recreationalist or pursuing athleticism, these are critical in order to refocus old habits of thinking as fuel for all aspects of your life. It is more critical than ever to integrate exercise as a prescription for health. Margaret’s clients are successful because of her attention to detail, thoroughness, and support provided toward self-guided accountability. Clients learn to master their own strengths, train their weaknesses, and celebrate personal successes. Margaret can be found pushing her own boundaries in resistance training, road-cycling, distance running (Chi), X-country skiing, surfing back in Nova Scotia, and chasing after the three greatest boys in her life. |
