The candidate for the position of occupational therapist will conduct himself or herself in a professional manner and in collaboration or the supervision of the head therapist. The main objective of this position is to offer adequate treatment to the patient who suffers from various health problems and to optimize healing. As a health care professional, the occupational therapist will carry out all the normal functions associated with his/her title. He or she specializes in the analysis, adaptation and therapeutic treatment related to a particular job. He works with the patient in order for him or her to return to full autonomy. The work of the occupational therapist is mainly focused on the psycho-social and environmental factors which influence a person’s functionality. He or she gives the patient the skills to live an independent and satisfying life. The occupational therapist will also work with a multidisciplinary team in order to offer the best care and services to his patients. The occupational therapist may be asked from time to time to perform certain administrative tasks.
Part time position, approximately 15 hours per week, flexible hours (no Saturdays), posibility to combine the hours with another clinic in order to have a full time porition.
A Bachelor or a Master degree in Occupational Therapy. Must have professional certification (a Member of OEQ and/or AQEP). Must have knowledge of holistic approach in musculo-skeletal and cognitive behavioural therapy. Must be bilingual, have empathy, professionalism, respect confidentiality, have good communications skills, dexterity, precision, easily adaptable, listen well, have analytical sense, initiative, team spirit, synthesis spirit, know his or her limits.
