The candidate for the position of osteopath will conduct himself or herself in a professional manner and in collaboration or the supervision of the head therapist. The main objective of this position is to offer adequate treatment to the patient who suffers from various health problems and to optimize healing. As a health care professional, the osteopath will carry out all the normal functions associated with his/her title. He or she must do a complete evaluation of the patient from a mechanical, functional, and a posture standpoint in order to apply the proper treatment using manual techniques tailored to the individuals needs. In addition, the osteopath will work closely with a multidisciplinary team to optimize the treatments and services offered to patients. The osteopath can also be asked, from time to time, to complete certain administrative tasks.
A diploma in osteopathy, university level training or the equivalent (CEO, COQ, IEOQ). Must have a professional certification (a Member of SOQ and ROQ). Must be bilingual, have empathy, professionalism, respect confidentiality, have good communications skills, dexterity, precision, easily adaptable, listen well, have analytical sense, initiative, team spirit, synthesis spirit, know his or her limits.
