Biography

Eugenia graduated from the University of Valle de México in Mexico with a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy in 2013. She then continued her studies in Spain at the European University of Madrid to obtain the European Union Diploma in Physiotherapy. During this exchange, she did a six-month full-time internship at Infanta Sofía Hospital, specializing in orthopaedics.

At the end of her studies, Eugenia had the opportunity to work in the largest public rehabilitation centre in the province of Querétaro in Mexico. She has completed internships in various fields such as neurological, orthopaedic and sports rehabilitation. She also worked in a private orthopaedic and sports clinic as well as in a retirement home where patients with neurological disorders lived.

After arriving in Quebec in September 2014, she volunteered in the physiotherapy department at Richardson Hospital in Montreal. A few months later, Eugenia obtained her physiotherapy equivalency from the OPPQ and completed the physiotherapy qualification program at McGill University. At the same time, she began the graduate certificate program in chronic pain management at McGill, which she is still pursuing.

She then worked in a private clinic in Montreal, treating a clientele mainly for orthopedic problems. Eugenia is dedicated to learning current physiotherapy techniques by completing various refresher courses including the Maitland and Mulligan concepts in manual therapy, a course for the treatment of biomechanical problems through manual therapy and Kinesio-taping application courses. She has also completed training in instrument assisted soft tissue mobilization (ISTM) with blades and X-ray prescription training in physiotherapy at the Université de Montréal.
