Amélie Michaud Physiotherapist

Sherbrooke

Biography

M.Sc Pht, M.Cl.Sc, FCAMPT, Dip. Sport Physio Canada

Amélie obtained her Master's degree in physiotherapy from the University of Sherbrooke in 2015.  She is also certified in sports physiotherapy by the sports division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association (Sport Physiotherapy Canada).  This national certification is a process that requires, in addition to many hours in the field, the acquisition of knowledge in exercise physiology, sport pharmacology and injury management for high level sports clients.

She is also a 2022 graduate of Western University's Comprehensive Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Master of Clinical Sciences program.  Through this training, Amélie has had the opportunity to improve her clinical reasoning, integrate the latest evidence-based physiotherapy practice and is now licensed to use joint manipulation as a treatment tool when necessary as she is a member of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (CAMPT).

Amélie has also chosen to add vestibular physiotherapy to her skill set, allowing her to assess and treat people with symptoms of vertigo and dizziness.

In addition to following up on her clients, Amélie was the coordinator of the clinic's first aid team from 2014 to 2020 and she began her sports involvement with several organizations in the region such as the Sherbrooke Abenakis Rugby Club, Soccer Estrie via the Sport-études soccer program and the Université de Sherbrooke's Vert et Or teams.   These early experiences in the Eastern Townships have certainly motivated her to continue her involvement in the field, which has recently led her to work with organizations such as Rugby Canada and Canada Soccer.

She is also a lecturer at the University of Sherbrooke and is involved with interns in clinical settings.
