Athletic Therapist B.Sc., CAT(C), SFR
Mara graduated from Concordia University in Exercise Science, specializing in Athletic Therapy in 2017 and is an active member of the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association and La Corporation des Thérapeutes du Sport du Québec. Graduating with distinction, Mara uses innovative treatment techniques, such as manual therapies and exercise prescription, as they are equally important on the road to recovery.
Mara has worked with various football, soccer, basketball and rugby athletes at a variety of clinics such as Dawson College, Vanier College and Concordia University Varsity Clinic. Her experience includes but is not limited to; Musculoskeletal Assessment and Rehabilitation, Sideline evaluation and Emergency Response. Mara is equipped to deal with advanced Emergency Care situations as she is a Certified Sports First Responder. Working at the Trevor William’s Basketball Academy for three consecutive summers, Mara gained experience with youth aged 5-18 tending to injuries and leading the First Aid Team. Mara’s experience goes beyond the varsity population as she works as a Women’s Kickboxing/Boxing Circuit Trainer, encouraging and correcting technique.
Being passionate about helping others understand the cause of their injury, she constantly finds new and exciting ways to challenge patients in their home exercise programs. During her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends and family, and furthering her education. She believes a strong work ethic and a good sense of humour go a long way in all aspects of life.
